Civil Airport Airspace “Black Flight” Drone Prevention and Control
Case 2026-03-29

In the complex environment of a modern airport, a single “rogue drone” can lead to massive flight delays and safety hazards. However, not all anti-drone systems are created equal. This report details the real-world field testing of Gotac’s C-UAS solutions, specifically optimized for high-interference airport settings.
Core requirements
Laboratory specs are one thing; the runway is another. Our testing focused on:
Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC): Ensuring zero interference with Air Traffic Control (ATC) and navigation signals
Detection Probability: Identifying “low, slow, and small” targets amidst airport clutter.
Response Latency: The speed from initial detection to automated alert.
Adapted product portfolio
Ku-band low-altitude mid-range surveillance radar + Fixed-type detection and defense equipment (ZC100AB-GTA) + Vehicle-mounted FPV defense equipment (GR200-GTA) + Lightweight drone countermeasure gun (ZG300-GTA)
Practical operation process
A Ku-band low-altitude mid-range surveillance radar is deployed within 3km of the airport perimeter, enabling all-weather detection of “low, slow, and small” targets within a ≥10km range, real-time tracking of UAV trajectories, and synchronized coordination with the command center;
Install fixed detection and defense equipment at key points in the terminal and runway, perform full-band scanning across 70MHz-6GHz, identify UAV IDs/models, and automatically trigger audible and visual alarms for suspicious targets;
The airport patrol vehicle is equipped with an onboard FPV defense system, capable of 360° full-band interference against radar-locked medium and short-range (≤1km) FPV drones, cutting off video transmission/GPS to achieve forced landing or expulsion;
Ground patrol personnel carry lightweight countermeasure guns, which can quickly lock onto drones entering the near range (≤2km) via an 8x optical sight, achieving precise forced landing through cross-interference without generating any physical debris throughout the process.
Practical effect
Achieve a three-tier defense system of “remote radar early warning – medium-range fixed countermeasures – short-range vehicle-mounted/single-soldier supplementary defense,” with detection and response ≤3 seconds, countermeasure range ≥3 kilometers, capable of swiftly handling various unauthorized drones without interfering with civil aviation communication/navigation signals, ensuring the safety of aircraft takeoff and landing.
